The process to become a referee is pretty easy.

Training is provided by North Texas State Soccer Association, the governing body over all 95 soccer associations in North Texas. For first time referees, online modules must be completed prior to selection
of an in person clinic.

All BESA's game assignments will be done through assignr.com. If you have completed the course and want to join Bedford-Euless (BESA) here is the link:

Because this is a new process, we strongly encourage everyone to review the Learning Center Recertification Help Guide before getting started. It provides step-by-step instructions to walk you through the entire recertification process.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
Required safety certifications will also be completed through the US Soccer Learning Center:
  • Intro to Safety — required for all referees
  • SafeSport — required for officials age 18 and older
NEW BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENT
Beginning this year, anyone age 18 or older must complete a background check through the US Soccer Learning Center.  The background check costs $23, is valid for two years, and the fee is non-refundable.

Regular 2027 Recertification:
Now through December 31, 2026
Late 2027 Recertification:
January 1 – June 15, 2027
A late fee will apply.

All referee feedback should be submitted by the coach using a Referee Evaluation Form.
